Detroit Emerge is a real estate and financial literacy program designed to equip middle and high school students with the knowledge and tools needed to understand credit, budgeting, homeownership, and long-term wealth building.
Through real-world application and student-centered learning, Detroit Emerge connects classroom concepts to practical life skills. The program prepares students to make informed financial decisions while also introducing pathways into real estate and related industries.
Detroit Emerge was created by Pavilion Services to address a critical need for financial literacy, real estate education, and wealth-building opportunities among youth across Southeast Michigan.
While rooted in Detroit, the program was intentionally designed to serve schools and communities across the region, expanding access to real estate and financial education and preparing students with practical, real-world financial skills.
Rather than waiting for change, Pavilion Services developed Detroit Emerge as a scalable solution that equips students with the knowledge and confidence to navigate credit, budgeting, homeownership, and generational wealth building.
Detroit Emerge is designed to be flexible, scalable, and adaptable to school and organizational needs across Southeast Michigan.
The full curriculum includes 25 lessons and can be delivered in multiple formats, including in-school programming, after-school sessions, or workshop-based models.
Each session is interactive and application-based, allowing students to connect math, financial literacy, and real-world decision-making in a meaningful way.
Detroit Emerge aligns with STEM and career readiness initiatives by integrating applied math, financial analysis, and real-world problem-solving through real estate.
Students gain a deeper understanding of how mathematics and financial concepts translate into real-life outcomes such as homeownership, investment decisions, and long-term financial planning.
Detroit Emerge is currently being piloted at
Martin Luther King Jr. Senior High School in Detroit, Michigan,
in partnership with the MLK PTSA.
This pilot serves as a foundation for expanding the program across additional schools and districts throughout Southeast Michigan.
